Marion Bray
Dear all,
It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that our wife and mother, Marion, passed away peacefully on Wednesday 15th July. Marion had been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease back in March and suffered a rapid acceleration of the symptoms throughout her limbs. Three weeks ago she was admitted to the Pilgrims Hospice in Ashford, Kent and passed away peacefully with the three of us present.
We have already received many tributes to Marion's character and personality and we are humbled by the esteem that she was held in by family, friends and colleagues. She never sought the limelight but worked ceaselessly for her family and for the business. As an exploration geologist, before West Design and Cross's, she can appropriately be referred to as "Our Rock".
Due to the current COVID restrictions, we are limited to a funeral for the family and close friends on Monday, 27th July. In line with Marion's wishes, she requested no flowers but, recognising the care she received in those final weeks, a donation to the Pilgrims Hospice would be appreciated and to this end we have set up a JustGiving page in Marion's name www.justgiving.com/fundraising/marion-bray .
It is our intention to hold a Memorial Service for Marion later in the year for a much wider audience when the regulations allow and when we feel it is safe to do so, details will follow giving as much notice as possible.
We should like to take this opportunity to thank you for your kindness and sympathy at this difficult time and especially for the warmth of your feelings towards Marion. She is sorely missed.
Mike, Jo and Owen
